Transavia Boeing Turns Back to Marrakech After Engine Overheat Warning Returns Mid-Flight
The Boeing had already reported an overheat warning before leaving Marrakech. The indication disappeared after checks, then returned during the climb. New details published on September 30 clarify the circumstances of the Transavia flight’s U-turn on its way to Amsterdam.
The incident dates back to May 22, 2026, on flight HV5752. According to information from BEA Maroc reported by The Aviation Herald, republished by Airportia, the first warning was triggered during pushback, just after the right engine was started.

The crew followed the emergency procedures and the corresponding checklists. The overheat indication went out. After consulting the maintenance department, the pilots decided to continue the flight.
The Boeing 737-800, registered as PH-HSB, took off from Marrakech-Menara. During the climb, at around flight level 70, or approximately 7,000 feet, the right-engine warning was triggered again.
The pilots halted the climb at around 11,600 feet, shut down the affected engine and turned back. The aircraft landed safely in Marrakech about 45 minutes after departure, with only one engine running.
The report also mentions a landing above the maximum authorized weight. It does not specify the technical cause of the overheat indication.
