Tough blow for Hakim Ziyech
Injured in the hamstrings, Hakim Ziyech missed the first leg of the African Confederation Cup quarter-final between Wydad Casablanca and Safi on Sunday. His unavailability is prolonged after a first absence in the championship.
Injured during the defeat against Rabat (1-2) on March 4, the 33-year-old attacking midfielder is suffering from a muscle problem. He is currently following a customized rehabilitation program and remains excluded from collective training at the El Massira stadium.
This physical setback has already deprived the former Chelsea and Ajax player of a match the previous weekend. He had not been able to participate in his team’s prolific victory (4-3) on the pitch of Union Touarga Sportif in the last round of Botola.
Since the beginning of the season, the Moroccan international has a record of two goals and one assist in six appearances in the Casablanca colors. Time is running out for the Moroccan international if he wants to be called up for the Atlas Lions’ upcoming friendly matches.
