Hakim Ziyech deprived of vacation

Hakim Ziyech knows no respite. While his Wydad Casablanca teammates are enjoying a break after their commitments in the Botola and the CAF Cup, the club’s new star is subjecting himself to solo preparation. The interruption of competitions until January 18, 2026, the end date of the Africa Cup of Nations, has become a real race against time for him.

The challenge is as much physical as it is technical. The former Al-Duhail player has not set foot on a pitch in an official match since last May. After a first part of the season spent without a club, his recent signing with the Reds requires an immediate return to form. The technical staff has therefore devised a tailor-made program for him to make up for this significant athletic deficit.

The coach does not intend to limit himself to pure physical preparation. The battle plan includes the integration of Ziyech into friendly matches during this international break. This step should allow the new recruit to regain the rhythm of competition before his official return, expected as early as the resumption of the championship at the end of January.
