Top Dutch Drug Lord Extradited from Colombia to Face Charges in Netherlands

Saïd Razzouki, a Dutch drug trafficker of Moroccan origin who had been living in Sabaneta, Colombia for four years and had been arrested two years ago following an international arrest warrant issued against him by Interpol, will be extradited to the Netherlands.
The Moroccan-Dutch, 48, actively sought since 2018 by the Dutch intelligence services, was located on February 7, 2020 in a luxurious apartment in the residential area of the municipality of Sabaneta (Antioquia) in Colombia. During the joint operation carried out by the Colombian authorities, the DEA and the FBI to proceed with his arrest, the accused had tried to flee by jumping from a third floor, injuring himself seriously.

After his arrest, he had been detained in Bogotá, pending his extradition which has finally been authorized by the Colombian justice system. In the coming days, he will be extradited to be tried by an Amsterdam court. According to the Dutch authorities, Saïd Razzouki would be involved in about ten shootings between cocaine trafficking networks operating between European ports and certain Arab and African countries, including Morocco.
