Those mysterious blue lights before the earthquake in Morocco (video)

A revelation emerges about the earthquake that devastated part of Morocco in the night from Friday to Saturday and killed more than 2,100 people, according to a still provisional toll from the Ministry of the Interior.
As they search for surveillance footage capturing every moment before, during and after the powerful earthquake, the Moroccan authorities have come across the security cameras of one of the residences in Marrakech that filmed enigmatic blue light flashes in the Moroccan sky, about three minutes before the powerful earthquake, reports The Jerusalem Post. These lights are similar to those observed in Turkey before the earthquake that hit that country at the beginning of the year, and cost the lives of 45,000 people.
One hypothesis emerges: "these flashes manifest in response to tectonic pressure, seismic activity in the vicinity or even volcanic eruptions." According to Le Figaro, it is likely that the earthquake lights come from "the sudden release of electrical charges caused by the upward movement of crystalline rocks that ionize the surrounding air." In 2021, the American media The Hill had reported: "While this phenomenon has already been observed, it is rare enough for scientists not to agree every time on the origin of these seismic lights." In Morocco, the exact cause of this particular phenomenon has not yet been confirmed.
Earthquake lights were first filmed in 1965, during an earthquake in Japan. Similar phenomena have since been observed in China in 2008, in Italy in 2009 and in Mexico in 2017.
