Thieves Target Vulnerable ATM Users During Morocco’s Health Emergency

While the state of health emergency in Morocco has resulted in a remarkable drop in crime, this also represents fertile ground for pickpockets.
According to the daily Al Massae, these thieves target Ramedists, users of bank ATMs. They take advantage of their lack of knowledge of the basic rules of the banking system, offer them help and end up stealing their money.
From February to March, crime has substantially decreased. This decrease is justified by the presence of the security forces in the neighborhoods, streets and boulevards. Added to this are the regular routine patrols, which now force individuals who were engaged in drug trafficking to cease their illegal activities.
As for murders and violent thefts, they have also decreased by 8%. As for car thefts, armed robberies and fatal beatings, they have respectively decreased by 7.78%, 21% and 11.7%.
