They Come from the Netherlands as Tourists to Kidnap a Diplomat's Son in Tangier

Men residing in the Netherlands allegedly entered Morocco as ordinary tourists before taking part in the kidnapping of the son of an African diplomat in Tangier. The main suspect has just been arrested by police.

The case mobilized Tangier’s judicial police, which managed to identify and then apprehend the man suspected of organizing the operation. According to information reported by Casapress-, the suspect owns a shisha café on Tangier’s corniche.

He allegedly called on several people residing in the Netherlands. They allegedly entered Morocco as tourists before taking part in the kidnapping and filming the victim. The diplomat’s son also reportedly resides in the Netherlands.

The Suspect Arrested on Al Boraq

Investigators quickly located the main suspect. He was eventually arrested while aboard an Al Boraq high-speed train, before being placed at the disposal of justice.

Searches are continuing to find the other people suspected of having taken part in the kidnapping. They allegedly left the scene after the incident.

The motive for the operation has not yet been established. However, the presence in the Netherlands of both the victim and several suspects is leading investigators to examine a possible cross-border criminal dimension.
