The police services of Tetouan, in coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), have arrested two men responsible for the robbery of a store located near Hassan II High School, which took place last weekend.
A scene worthy of a Hollywood movie occurred last weekend in Tetouan. A well-known store located near Hassan II High School was burglarized by two individuals. In a video sequence captured by the store’s surveillance camera, two men are seen arriving around two o’clock in the morning. They get out of a vehicle, head towards the store’s door, and open it with keys, as if they were owners or employees, reports Al Akhbar. They enter the store and take away a large bag filled with banknotes, as well as two medium-sized boxes, also full of money.
Informed, the security services of Tetouan, in coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), relied on the images to quickly identify the perpetrators and managed to arrest them a few hours after the burglary. According to a source, these two suspects had surveyed the area before acting, with video archives revealing that they had passed through the premises in the two previous days, going up to an apartment in the building housing the store. They had even posed as simple customers.
After their arrest, the two suspects were questioned. Suspecting internal complicity, investigators also interrogated everyone connected to the store. The loot from the burglary is not yet known. According to some, a sum of 1.5 million dirhams was stolen. But according to sources close to the store owner, the amount of the loot amounts to more than 5 million dirhams.
