Teen Fatally Stabbed by Mother in Belgian Suburb, Authorities Investigate

In the suburbs of Liège, a Moroccan national committed the unthinkable by fatally stabbing her own child. The adolescent collapsed in the street after leaving his parents’ home, his body full of blood.
On Wednesday, August 28th, in the Sainte-Walburge region, tensions had risen between Fatima and her son Bilal. In a rage, she had inflicted several knife wounds to his chest in the presence of his father and brothers.
In trying to escape, the young Bilal had ultimately succumbed to his injuries in the street. The mother, who was apprehended, admitted the facts to the investigators.
The teenager’s remains were subjected to an autopsy and the Public Prosecutor’s Office took over the case while an investigation involving the other family members is ongoing.
