Taxi Fare Scandal: Tangier Consumers Fight Back Against Illegal Price Hikes

The consumer rights advocacy association in Tangier denounces the "dangerous practices" of certain taxi drivers who impose new fares on citizens, in violation of the current regulations governing the transport sector.
These practices infringe on the rights of consumers, who find themselves forced to pay exorbitant amounts, without any legal justification, the association explained in a statement.
The association condemns this illegal increase in transport fares, holding responsible the entities that authorize or encourage such practices. It has also reaffirmed its determination to protect consumers and put an end to this "systematic fraud".
The association has also called on citizens to report any driver who would impose an illegal fare, stressing the need to resist these practices that harm economic and social stability and weaken the purchasing power of families.
