Taxi Drivers Block Student Bus in Casablanca, Sparking Transport Dispute

Taxi drivers in Casablanca were filmed encircling a bus transporting female students, thus preventing them from returning home. This action aimed to force the young women to abandon an associative transport service in favor of taxis.
A video widely shared on social networks shows a group of taxis blocking a bus from a student association. The bus provides transportation for students between the Médiouna road and their university, located on the El Jadida road, a journey that would otherwise require three changes of public transport lines.
The association offers a symbolic rate for this service, which has angered the taxi drivers. They used intimidation tactics to force the 50 students to unsubscribe from the associative service, thus obliging them to use their taxis, which represents a much higher cost for the young women.
