Tangier Woman Sentenced to 5 Years for Running Underage Prostitution Ring

Five years in prison and a fine of 100,000 dirhams. This is the sentence imposed by the criminal chamber near the court of appeal of Tanger on the defendant. The charge against her is "human trafficking and exploitation of minors for the purpose of prostitution".

The pimp had turned the apartment she had near the Place des Nations, in the city center, into a "prostitution den for minors". And, taking advantage of the vulnerability and precariousness of girls from underprivileged families who come to Tangier in search of work and well-being, she forced them into sexual relations for prices ranging from 500 to 5000 dirhams.

The victims, who were intimidated and under her absolute authority, were deprived of going out. Finally, having managed to escape, one of them went to the police to denounce the horror. This is how the elements of the city’s police got their hands on the pimp.
