Tangier Flood Victims’ Families Receive 29 Apartments in Wave of Community Support

A wave of solidarity has formed around the families of the victims of the flood that occurred on February 8 in a clandestine textile workshop in Tangier and which caused 29 deaths. The Ghaith association, which brings together economic operators in the city, has provided them with significant assistance.
Created in the aftermath of the Tangier tragedy, the Ghaith association specifically dedicated to assisting the victims’ families is doing useful work. It had launched an appeal for donations and raised 12.8 million dirhams for these victims. Adil Rais, president of the Ghaith association, said that about twenty donors, Moroccans and foreigners, responded to their call.
"After discussions with the victims’ families, it was decided to buy 29 apartments in Tangier, Martil and Kenitra. Two vehicles have also been acquired for a business project. The rest of the aid will be distributed in cash to the beneficiaries," the president of the association said on the Tanja24 website during an event organized on Friday, January 21, 2022.
