Tamansourt to Launch 40-Hectare Tech Industrial Park, Creating 5,000 Jobs

During its regular session in July, the Tamansourt Regional Council validated the project to create an industrial park dedicated to technology activities, to be installed on a 40-hectare domain acquired by the region for 40 million dirhams.
The technical studies for the realization of this platform, with a capacity to accommodate 160 companies, are already underway, informs the newspaper l’Économiste.
The Regional Development Company (SDR), in charge of implementing this project which will generate some 5,000 jobs in the long run, already has the support of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Morocco.
The idea of creating an industrial park or other in Tamansourt is not new. In 2011, the installation of a park dedicated to interior decoration (furniture, decoration) and solar technologies had been announced without follow-up. The reason given was disputes over the domain that was to host the project.
Similarly, the project to create a university campus, carried by Cadi Ayyad since 2014, could not materialize, due to land disputes.
Tamansourt has very few industrial zones and fails to attract investors. On the other hand, real estate developers have set their sights on this city, making it a dormitory town.
