A talent turns his back on the Netherlands and joins Morocco
The PSV Eindhoven prodigy, Sami Bouhoudane, has chosen to represent Morocco rather than the Netherlands. This decision demonstrates the success of the Moroccan federation in securing its young dual-national talents.
Morocco continues to strengthen its ranks with the arrival of Sami Bouhoudane. The promising PSV Eindhoven striker has officially chosen the Atlas Lions, thus turning his back on the Dutch national team, which had hoped to integrate him permanently into its youth categories.
At only 18 years old, the striker is a pure product of the Eindhoven academy, a club he joined in 2018. He has quickly established himself as one of the most promising offensive prospects of the Dutch club, climbing the ranks thanks to his remarkable efficiency in front of goal.
The announcement of his choice, relayed by journalist Fabrizio Romano on his X account, is a blow for the Netherlands. The Dutch federation thus loses one of its most closely watched elements in favor of the Moroccan sports project, which is becoming increasingly attractive for dual-nationals.
