At 75, he takes on the Marathon des Sables

At 75 years old, a Briton is taking on a crazy challenge, that of participating in the 38th Marathon des Sables which will take place in the Moroccan Sahara, in order to raise funds for a children’s hospice.
Harry Hunter, 75, will fly from the UK to Morocco where he will participate in the Marathon des Sables. He will blow out another candle, on the second day of the competition. His main objective: to raise £2,000 through a fundraising campaign launched on the Just Giving donation site. This resident of Windsor will donate these funds to the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice, the only children’s hospice serving Berkshire and the surrounding counties in England, reports The Slough& South Bucks Observer.
The hospice currently cares for more than 165 children and their families. It needs £2.8 million in funding each year, the majority of which comes from donations.
The 38th edition of the Marathon des Sables will take place from April 12 to 22, 2024 over a distance of 250 kilometers, in six days.
