Swiss Cigarettes Sold in Morocco More Toxic Than European Counterparts, Investigation Reveals

"Swiss Made" is not necessarily synonymous with quality. Did you know that cigarettes manufactured in Switzerland and sold in Morocco are much more toxic than those supplied to European countries?
This is the result of an investigation conducted by independent journalist Marie Maurisse over a year on the tobacco multinationals, which revealed that cigarettes destined for Africa, including Morocco, are not only stronger but also contain twice as much nicotine and tar as those destined for the European market.
This investigation is all the more worrying since more than half of the cigarettes sold in the kingdom are manufactured in Switzerland. Even worse, for many Moroccans, "Swiss Made" is a guarantee of quality, leading them to set aside local productions for those made abroad.
Without questioning the results of the journalist’s investigation, the cigarette manufacturers claim that they are simply adapting to the tastes of Africans, but in reality the higher presence of nicotine is aimed at making them more dependent on tobacco.
