Swedish Tourist’s ’Mayonnaise’ Tattoo in Morocco Goes Viral on TikTok

During her recent stay in Morocco, Caitlin Delphine, a Swedish tourist and regular hostel-goer, shared an unusual tattoo experience.
She revealed on TikTok that she got the word "mayonnaise" tattooed in Arabic, along with two other tourists she met in a hostel in Morocco. The video, showing Caitlin using a translator to reveal the meaning of her tattoo, has been viewed over a million times on social media.
The tattoo was done ten days after they met in the hostel, to mark this new friendship. "POV: You get matching tattoos in Morocco with people you met 10 days ago in a hostel," Caitlin writes in the video. Despite its unusual nature, Caitlin and her new friends seemed satisfied and she even plans to keep it.
The online reactions have been varied, ranging from amusement to astonishment. A Moroccan woman confirmed the accuracy of the tattoo, saying:
"As a Moroccan, I can definitely confirm that it says mayonnaise."
"At least you’ll never forget it at the store. Personal and permanent shopping list," another joked.
