Suspect in Brutal Knife Murder Attempts Suicide in Prison Cell

Yassine, the 23-year-old man suspected of having killed Moustapha, a family man, with forty knife wounds, is between life and death in the emergency room. He slit his throat in prison.
Yassine did not just slit his throat. He also cut his wrists during the night from Friday to Saturday, in the cell that was assigned to him in the Bois-d’Arcy prison. For Le Parisien, the young man resorted to this desperate gesture because he was "eaten away by a feeling of guilt".
Had it not been for the visit of the firefighters who came around 5:29 am to the rescue of another particularly monitored and isolated detainee who was complaining of chest pains, Yassine might have died. Even though he was saved just in time, his vital prognosis remains very committed.
The young man is suspected of having killed on December 23 a 44-year-old family man. His body was found more than 24 hours later, buried in the Sautour park. Reported by the neighbors, Yassine confessed, explaining that the victim was too interested in his wife. But given the complexity of the crime, the investigators believe that he did not act alone. Yassine’s wife and brother-in-law, aged 24 and 20, were also indicted and incarcerated for having helped the murderer to erase the traces of this crime, reports the same source.
