Survey: 90% of Moroccans Favor English Over French in Schools

The vast majority of Moroccans want English to replace French in school. This is the result of a survey conducted by the Moroccan Center for Citizenship.
Apparently, Moroccans are showing more and more interest in English than in French. 89.6% of the people surveyed in a survey conducted by the Moroccan Center for Citizenship among a sample of 12,128 people, including 9,553 teachers, prefer the language of Shakespeare to replace the language of Molière, as the first foreign language in Morocco, reports the daily Assabah. Only 6.2% of those surveyed are in favor of maintaining French as the first language. 1.6% of respondents have chosen Spanish.
What about education? 41.7% of the families surveyed opt for the private sector due to schedules. For 36% of respondents, the choice would be based on the general trend in society. 33.8% of those surveyed justify their choice of the private sector by the loss of confidence in the public sector, 31.4% for transportation, 12.6% for the quality of learning, 2.8% for security, 0.9% for languages, 1.2% for high grades and 3.3% for other reasons. On the other hand, 83.8% criticize the private sector for tuition fees, 77.4% for textbooks and finally 56.3% for homework.
According to 94.9% of respondents, the failure of the public sector is explained by overcrowded classrooms, the lack of teaching resources according to 90.1% of respondents, the inefficiency of textbooks (84.7%) and the premises (82.4%).
