Survey: Moroccan Youth Show High Trust in Military and Police Forces

The annual report of the Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis (MIPA) revealed that Moroccans place a certain degree of trust in the Royal Armed Forces and the police. These are the results of its "Index of Trust in Institutions in 2020".
87% of people aged between 18 and 29 trust the royal armed forces. This trust index increases among people aged between 40 and 49 to reach 92%. Almost the same trust indices were recorded for the police. No less than 77% of people aged between 18 and 29 trust the police forces.
This rate reaches 88% among Moroccans aged between 40 and 49 years old. The results of the index revealed that 65% of people aged between 40 and 49 trust the components of civil society, while those aged between 30 and 39 years old show only 57%. On the other hand, people aged between 18 and 29 years old represent only 13%, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.
The report explains that the trust placed by Moroccans is due to the actions of civil society for the benefit of the population and its proximity. According to the same results, 83% of the Moroccans surveyed expressed their satisfaction with the quality of private education, compared to 56% for the public sector. On the other hand, 17% of people aged between 18 and 29 are still distrustful of private education, compared to 54% for the public sector. The observation remains almost the same with regard to the health system, in its public and private aspects.
As could be expected, politicians arouse the distrust or even rejection of Moroccans. In the report, the Parliament is described as a system of rent by the majority of the people surveyed, who in reality do not master the prerogatives of this institution. As for political parties, the disappointment is even greater. According to the survey results, about 81% of the Moroccans surveyed do not trust political parties, while only 1% of young people remain confident.
The government has taken a beating in the survey. About 23% of people aged between 18 and 29 trust the Executive. As for the other categories of the population, the index does not exceed 30%. This is explained by the fact that the population is disappointed with the government, some of whose actions do not meet the expectations of the latter, specifies the same source.
