Survey: Half of Young Moroccans Optimistic About Children’s Future

Nearly 50% of young Moroccans say they are optimistic about the future of their children. This is the result of a survey by the Arab Barometer in 12 countries in North Africa and the Middle East (MENA).
"Do you believe that the quality of life of your children will be better than yours?" This is the question asked of young Moroccans as part of a survey titled "Youth Vision on Quality of Life and Economic Conditions" conducted by the Arab Barometer. For 49% of respondents aged 18-29, their children’s lives will be better than theirs. 41% of respondents over 30 share this opinion. Young Moroccans were also asked to compare their quality of life to that of their parents. The survey reveals that 39% of young people (aged 18 to 29) believe that their living conditions are better than those of their parents, compared to 35% for the category aged over 30, reports the Arabic daily Assabah.

The surveyors also collected the opinions of women in the same age group and living in the same region. The survey reveals that 49% of young Moroccan women (aged 18 to 29) believe that the living conditions of their children will be better than theirs, compared to 41% of women over 30. Similarly, 40% of young Moroccan women (aged 18 to 29) believe that their living conditions are better than those of their parents. 33% of women over 30 express the same opinion.
