Surge in Pharmacy Burglaries Hits Yvelines Region, Minors Suspected

Burglaries of new pharmacies in the Yvelines department, France, have resumed with a vengeance over the past weekend. On Saturday, August 17, 2019, three pharmacies in Poissy, Achères and Les Mureaux were burgled by wandering Moroccan minors.
Maghreb minors are hunting down pharmacies in the Yvelines, France. They have become masters of burgling these pharmacies, stripping them of their products or looting their cash registers. On Avenue Foch in Poissy, the airlock of the pharmacy had been forced. The premises, searched in vain, had been abandoned, since the burglars did not find the cash register there. In Achères, the thieves managed to enter the pharmacy by breaking the patio door. The damage there is still undetermined.
In front of the one on Rue Jean-Jacques-Rousseau in Les Mureaux, a Tunisian teenager who was trying to break into the pharmacy was apprehended. At just 13 years old, he is no stranger to the police for his many burglaries committed in pharmacies in Versailles.
In Chesnay-Rocquencourt, the iron bar used to force the storefront on Rue de Glatigny was abandoned on the spot. A week earlier, a previous attempt had been thwarted at the pharmacy in the center of Poissy. The police brigades had arrested three suspects, aged 11 to 17, two days earlier in Viroflay, for similar acts.
To avoid this kind of incident in the future, the police brigades on night duty have been made aware of this phenomenon. To this end, surveillance of pharmacies has been strengthened.
However, a little more is known about the perpetrators of these burglaries. They are unaccompanied minors, homeless, originally from Algeria or Morocco. Their attractions in recent months have been the pharmacies of Yvelines, not to mention the pharmacies of Sartrouville, Trappes, Rambouillet and Le Vésinet.
