Surge in Moroccan Expats Returning Home: 30,000 Cross from Spain in Two Days

The Marhaba 2024 Operation has got off to a flying start. In two days, nearly 30,000 Moroccans from Europe have returned to Morocco via the Spanish ports.
Between June 13, the start date of the Marhaba 2024 Operation, and June 14, 29,724 Moroccans residing abroad (MRE) transited through the Andalusian ports to reach Morocco, which represents an increase of 75.7% compared to the same period last year.
According to data from the Spanish Ministry of the Interior consulted by Europa Press, 14,286 MRE and 4,201 vehicles joined Morocco on June 13. On Friday, the number of MRE and vehicles that crossed the Andalusian ports was 15,438 and 4,588 respectively.
