Sudanese Authorities Seize 84 kg of Gold from Moroccan Mining Company’s Helicopter

It is due to the absence of a gold transfer permit (and not for any accusation of smuggling) that a cargo of 84 kilos of gold belonging to the Moroccan company Managem was intercepted in a helicopter in Sudan.
A helicopter traveling from the Qabqah region (where Managem holds an official operating permit) to Khartoum and carrying a large quantity of gold belonging to Managem (a subsidiary of the Al Mada holding company) was intercepted by the Sudanese authorities west of the Nile region. The reason given is the lack of a gold transfer permit.
An administrative mix-up since the fall of the government would be to blame. Previously, the economic security agencies of the police and the army were responsible for issuing permits to companies to extract and transport minerals. Now this task would fall to the rapid intervention elements, with the consequence of the absence of an official interlocutor.
It should be noted that a few days ago, on Thursday to be precise, an attempt to smuggle gold was thwarted in the same region. A plane belonging to an international gold trading company was then arrested.
