Study: Renewable Energy Sector Employs 1% of Workforce in Morocco, Egypt, and Jordan

According to an economic study conducted by the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), the renewable energy sector in Morocco, Egypt, and Jordan represents 1% of total employment.
This economic study, published by the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), a non-profit institution for independent research on the global energy economy, revealed that improving the workforce requires competitive, interactive and motivating markets to attract local skills, reports the website www.tsa-algerie.com. According to the Asharq Al-Awsat consultant, this is an opportunity for governments to reduce the unemployment rate, the same media continues.
According to the study results, it is proven that photovoltaic solar energy is the sector capable of employing the largest number of workers, as it ranks first in the job creation rate in Egypt and Jordan, followed by wind energy and concentrated solar energy.
For its part, the International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that renewable energies could generate more than 40 million jobs by 2050, and that the number of jobs created in the energy sector will reach 100 million by 2050.
In total, six types of activities in the photovoltaic solar power plant and the wind farm project, from planning to the end of operation, have been identified by the Agency. It should be noted that operation, maintenance and installation, construction and manufacturing are the activity sectors that regularly recruit, according to the study results.
