Study: Morocco Emerges as Africa’s Safest Travel Destination Amid COVID-19 Crisis

Morocco is the safest country to visit in Africa during this health crisis period, according to a study conducted by Manuel Aguilar, a biomedical engineer at the University of Malaga in Spain.
Morocco is at the top of the safest destinations in Africa, due to the rapid progress of the national vaccination campaign against Covid-19 in the kingdom. According to the data from the study conducted by Manuel Aguilar, a biomedical engineer and former researcher at RWTH University in Aachen, Germany, 15 out of 100 Moroccans have already received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine, and the authorities have shown remarkable proactivity in the response to the pandemic.
In the global ranking, Morocco is in fifth place, after Israel, China, Australia and New Zealand. It is followed by Egypt, Bhutan, Algeria, Nicaragua and Rwanda. Four criteria were used in the study: vaccination against Covid-19, the number of confirmed cases, population density and compliance with the international health protocol. The data was obtained from reports from the University of Oxford and the World Health Organization (WHO).
