Study: 70% of Moroccan Women with HIV Infected by Husbands, New Cases Rising

70% of Moroccan women living with HIV/AIDS were infected by their spouses. This is revealed by a study commissioned by the PPS, the report of which was presented in Agadir during a party activity.
According to Al Massae which exploits the study report, homosexuals are the most exposed to HIV/AIDS after women. The same source indicates that there are, in Morocco, 1,000 new infections and 700 deaths per year related to the virus. At the regional level, 62% of HIV-positive cases were detected in Souss-Massa, Casablanca-Settat and Marrakech-Safi.
In addition to the multiple awareness campaigns carried out during the past year, the public authorities have continued to make efforts to ensure that patients have access to medicines at preferential prices or even free access to therapies, the study says.
