Student Election Dispute Sparks Violent Clashes at Moroccan University

The Faculty of Letters and Humanities of the Abdelmalek Essaâdi University in Tetouan was the scene of a violent clash between two groups of students, resulting in injuries and causing extensive material damage. Acts condemned by the university authorities.
At the origin of this violence, a disagreement between two "clans" of students, one conservative and the other reformist, on the way in which the elections are held, reports Al Ahdat Al Maghribia, according to which as soon as the clashes broke out, each party called on elements outside the University.
Consequence, an escalation of tensions between students resulting in injuries who were evacuated to the Saniat Rmel hospital in Tetouan, and causing the suspension of classes and a disruption of student activities, indicate the sources of the daily newspaper.
In the wake of this, the Faculty of Letters and Humanities of the Abdelmalek Essaâdi University in Tetouan strongly condemned these acts of violence, specifying that the path of justice would be seized against the troublemakers.
