Strong Winds Halt Ferry Service Between Morocco’s Tangier and Spain’s Tarifa

The port of Tangier has suspended all its maritime links during the day on Thursday, until further notice, following the weather alert from the Directorate General of Meteorology on violent winds.
Thus, the links are suspended with the port of Tarifa, and people wishing to go to Spain, particularly Moroccans residing abroad (MREs), will have to go to the port of Tanger-Med to take the boat.
Heavy rains and gusts of wind with local dust storms are expected on Thursday and Friday in several provinces of the Kingdom, the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) announced.
Thus, the provinces of Larache, Fahs-Anjra, Tanger-Assilah, Tetouan, Mdiq-Fnideq, Ouezzane and Chefchaouen will experience heavy rains (35-75 mm), from Thursday at 6 pm to Friday at 3 am, the DGM indicated in a weather alert bulletin at the orange vigilance level.
