Strong Winds Disrupt Flights at Tangier Airport, Forcing Diversions

Violent gusts of wind swept through northern Morocco on Monday morning, disrupting air traffic and causing the diversion of several flights destined for Tangier. Ibn Battouta airport had to redirect planes to other platforms in the country.
Among the affected flights were the TO3074 flight of the Transavia company from Paris, forced to land in Rabat. The passengers of the Ryanair flight FR8628 from Memmingen, Germany, were redirected to Nador airport.
Ryanair also saw two of its domestic flights, FR6744 and FR6223, initially scheduled to land in Tangier from Ouarzazate, diverted to the capital. Finally, the QY932 cargo flight of Swift Cargo, from Madrid, had to land in Casablanca.
