A strong gesture by Jamel Debbouze towards Wahid Bouzidi

Franco-Moroccan comedian Jamel Debbouze has not finished paying tribute to his brother Wahid Bouzidi, the Franco-Algerian comedian, who died on Sunday, August 20 in a clinic in Marrakech, where he had been admitted in an emergency following a stroke.

On Friday, Jamel Debbouze had a strong gesture to pay tribute once again to Wahid Bouzidi, from the "Jamel Comedy Club". In an Instagram story, he announced that he had changed the facade of his establishment. "Wahid forever in our hearts," it reads. A nice way for the Franco-Moroccan comedian to express his love for the one he considers his brother. The day after the death of the Franco-Algerian comedian, the husband of journalist Melissa Theuriau had paid tribute to him on the same social network in these terms: "Thank you for all the emotions you gave us. I will never forget our fits of laughter and your generosity. Wahid was a being of rare humanity. You will be missed, my brother. I think of your wife and your family. Rest in peace, my brother."

On August 16, Wahid Bouzidi suffered a stroke while on vacation in Morocco. Admitted urgently to a clinic in Marrakech, he fell into a coma. His death was announced on Sunday, August 20. In 2021, the comedian had suffered his first stroke. On September 28 of the same year, he had confided to Le Courrier de l’Atlas: "A month ago (in August 2021), I could barely walk. Doctors kept telling me I would never get back on stage. My friends forgot I was sick. Apart from my wife who was at my bedside, many were conspicuous by their absence. As if by chance, they are back again. They saw that the light had returned and that I am back on stage. [...] The fact of holding hours on stage is a revenge."
