Street Art Festival Transforms Moroccan Resort Town of Saïdia

For the 1st edition of "Happy Walls" dedicated to street art, several Moroccan and international artists were invited to create mural frescoes on the walls of the medina of the seaside resort of Saïdia Resorts.
Organized from June 20 to 28, this festival saw the participation of artists such as the Spaniard Lily Brick and the Moroccans Fouad Abid and Mohamed Tarahdid, alongside a selection of young artists who participated in a competition to determine the best works created on this occasion.
The objective is to rehabilitate and embellish the walls of the medina of the seaside resort, as part of the artistic and cultural animation and the tourist promotion of this destination. The themes of the creations are in particular the preservation of the coastline, the cultural heritage, crafts and local products, sustainable tourism development and human authenticity.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohamed Moumou, president of the Tzouri Collective for Culture and Development, winner of the Madaëf Eco6-Saïdia Resorts Edition program, stressed the importance of this initiative which combines artistic creativity and preservation and embellishment of the urban heritage.
For her part, Amal Touri, head of animation at the Saïdia Development Company (SDS), indicated that "Happy Walls" is an unprecedented initiative that has allowed the walls of the medina of Saïdia Resorts to be adorned with mural works that now constitute a collective artistic heritage.
