Stray Dog Packs Terrorize Moroccan City, Residents Demand Action

Stray dogs have become a real danger for the inhabitants of Khémisset who fear for their lives. They are calling on the local authorities for help.
Children and adults are afraid to move around the city of Khémisset. It is difficult for schoolchildren to return home or go to their school, reports Al Massae. Adults, for their part, gather in groups to go to their workplace. At night, stray dogs move in packs, rush towards the trash cans in search of food. These animals overturn the trash cans and scatter the garbage.
This situation leads an associative actor, a hygiene specialist, to alert the local authorities to the consequences of bites from rabid dogs, especially for children. According to him, these dogs can carry viruses, parasites and other diseases. He calls on the competent services of the city to put an end to this phenomenon. He proposes an awareness campaign for the owners of these dogs. They will be called upon to control their animals and ensure monitoring and follow-up with a veterinarian.
Also, he suggested capturing and euthanizing stray dogs. Finally, he insisted on the regular cleaning of public spaces where these animals gather, especially the popular markets which have become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and all kinds of insects.
