Stranded Moroccans in UAE Face Dire Conditions Amid COVID-19 Travel Restrictions

Moroccans stuck in the United Arab Emirates because of the COVID-19 pandemic are living in complete destitution. They have neither housing, nor food, nor even medicine.
These Moroccans are stuck in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah, and cannot meet their needs for money, food, housing and medicine, reports Assabah who called some of them. Among them are families and elderly men suffering from chronic illnesses whose treatments are out of stock.
Tired of living in destitution, these Moroccans plead for their repatriation to the kingdom. "We have become like insects" who move left and right to the consulates and travel agencies and "have no answer to our questions," they lament.
Certainly, they acknowledge that the Moroccan consulate in Dubai has drawn up the list of people concerned by the repatriation in this period of global health crisis (tourists, transit travelers, conference participants), but call on the Moroccan authorities to come to their rescue.
