Stranded Moroccan Workers Detained in Algerian Prisons Amid Border Closure

About 200 Moroccan workers, stranded in Algeria since the borders were closed, have launched an appeal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Some have been transferred to penitentiary institutions, due to lack of space in reception centers.
The dozens of centers available in Algerian cities are saturated due to the large number of foreigners stranded in the country. To remedy this, the authorities have resorted to Algerian prisons.
This situation, indicates Al Oumk, puts in a very difficult situation the dozens of Moroccan workers and traditional craftsmen who went to Algeria where their know-how is recognized and in high demand.
For the Algerian authorities, who believe they have sent the request on time, Moroccan diplomacy is taking a lot of time in processing the files of the 200 Moroccans stranded.
