US State Department and CIA Adopt Updated Map of Morocco Including Western Sahara

The US State Department and the CIA are now using the map of Morocco integrating the territory of the Sahara. This should reassure the kingdom at a time when Algerian lobbies and supporters of the Polisario are calling on the Biden administration to call into question the American recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara.
The map of Morocco integrating the Sahara is now visible on Travel.state.gov, a website that provides information to Americans wishing to travel to this North African country or other countries. In addition to the State Department, other official US websites, including that of the CIA, have also adopted the map of Morocco integrating the Sahara.
The United States had unveiled, for the first time, an "official new map" of Morocco integrating the territory of the Sahara during a ceremony organized at the US embassy in Rabat on December 12, 2020, two days after the decree signed by Donald Trump.
The adoption of this new map by several official US websites suggests that the Biden administration will not call into question the decree recognizing American sovereignty of Morocco over the Sahara. Moreover, Trump’s successor had in the meantime welcomed the American recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara and the normalization of diplomatic relations between the kingdom and Israel.
