To address climate change (drought, floods, heat waves, etc.), a London start-up has rented over 6,000 hectares in the Moroccan Sahara to cultivate and bury algae.
The London start-up Brilliant Planet has found a solution to the climate crisis. It had the ingenious idea of cultivating algae and burying them in the Sahara desert so that they sequester the absorbed carbon, reports CNN cited by Geo.
The company has rented 6,100 hectares of land near the Moroccan coastal town of Akhfenir, an isolated area located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sahara, to carry out its project.
