Special Ferry to Repatriate French and EU Citizens from Morocco Amid Travel Restrictions

Following the extension of air and sea links by the Moroccan authorities until January 31, 2022, the French embassy in Morocco announced on Twitter that a special ferry connecting Tanger Med to Marseille will set sail on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, to allow French citizens, European citizens and permanent residents in France, traveling in a vehicle registered in Europe, to return home. The Méridionale company is in charge.
In its tweet, the French embassy in Morocco specifies that a ferry from the Méridionale company will leave Tanger Med on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, to dock in Marseille. The exact schedule will be specified later, it also says. It also states that registration is required per vehicle and per person. French citizens, European citizens and permanent residents in France, traveling in a vehicle registered in Europe who wish to make the trip must fill out a form. This form provides information on the wishes of these people. Once registered on the list, they will be called by the shipping company to purchase their ticket.
The diplomatic representation also recalls that special flights and crossings operate only in the Morocco-France direction. In the event of leaving Moroccan territory, and until further notice, given the suspension by the Moroccan authorities of links to Morocco, people residing in Morocco will no longer be able to return there, it warns.
