Spanish Police Capture Interpol-Wanted Moroccan Terror Suspect Near Alicante

Wanted under an international arrest warrant issued by Interpol at the request of the German authorities, a 25-year-old Moroccan has just been apprehended by the Spanish national police in a locality near Alicante.
Wanted, in particular, for crime and collaboration with the Islamic State, Daesh, the individual had escaped, in 2017, from an operation to dismantle a terrorist cell in Germany.
The Spanish police had started monitoring this Daesh terrorist cell in 2016, which was working to recruit new jihadists to carry out terrorist attacks in Europe.
In 2010, the terrorist cell had planned a Kalashnikov attack in the French capital. It was aborted by the security services. Investigators had managed to identify three members who had provided logistical support and prepared false travel documents for the terrorists.
In 2017, the German police had managed to arrest two members of the terrorist network, but the Moroccan had fled to Spain where he had settled irregularly.
His arrest comes at a time when other terrorists belonging to the Organization have been apprehended in France, Germany and Morocco. He is being prosecuted for crime, document forgery, fraud and tax evasion.
