Spanish Police Arrest 64 Migrants in Ceuta, 27 Face Deportation to Morocco

The surprise operation carried out by the Ceuta Civil Guard on Monday, November 11, 2019 resulted in the arrest of 64 Moroccans, candidates for illegal immigration, 27 of whom are pending expulsion to Morocco.
According to the Spanish local news agency, EFE, reported by the MAP, 37 minors are among the 64 Moroccan nationals arrested during the operation carried out, with the collaboration of the port police of the city.
These minors, according to the same source, were found "both on the jetty of the port and hidden in unusual places such as the roof of a service station". In addition to the Moroccans, Algerian migrants were also apprehended. Justifying this operation, the Spanish police intend to "reduce the migratory pressure around the port".
Following this operation and, pending the apprehension of other no less important illegal immigrants still stationed near the port, the 27 adult migrants will soon be subject to an expulsion procedure to Morocco. As for the 37 minors, they have been placed in the temporary migrant reception center.
