Spanish Media Praises Morocco’s King for Proactive COVID-19 Response

The management of the coronavirus in Morocco and the efforts of King Mohammed VI have been praised by the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
The newspaper has devoted an article titled "HM King Mohammed VI’s Task Force controls the coronavirus in Morocco". El Mundo recalls the many actions taken by the kingdom after the registration of the very first case of covid-19 contamination on March 2. These are strict and proactive measures to curb the spread of the pandemic. For the newspaper, this proactivity has made Morocco a model in the management of this health crisis.
"HM King Mohammed VI has personally overseen the management of this health crisis and created a Task Force to coordinate the strategy to fight the covid-19 pandemic, which was composed of senior officials," writes the Spanish media, emphasizing the leading role of all Moroccan government officials and public institutions, as well as the security forces. They coordinated the implementation of the state of health emergency and raised awareness among citizens of the importance of the measures adopted.
The Spanish newspaper also mentions the contribution of Moroccan industrial units specialized or converted in the textile industry. The State has called on them to manufacture protective masks. An industrial policy that has allowed the kingdom to cover, in record time, the needs of the population, before authorizing their export to several countries, including Spain, France, Italy and Germany, adds El Mundo.
The newspaper summarizes the management of covid-19 in Morocco by reporting the words of Professor Mohamed Amine Serghini of Ibn Zohr University in Agadir: "Morocco, where the level of spread of covid-19 remains low, has taken decisive and rapid measures to fight the pandemic, through the adoption of an approach based on foresight, firmness and rigor, in collaboration with all stakeholders, and with the participation of the population, which has allowed it to avoid the worst."
