A Spanish yacht sank off the coast of Al Hoceima, after leaving the Marina. The 8 people on board were rescued by a Royal Gendarmerie patrol boat.
According to a local newspaper, the eight members of the same Spanish family decided to weigh anchor on Saturday afternoon, without having the necessary permits.
Out at sea, the boat began to flood for reasons that remain to be determined.
No casualties are to be deplored among the yacht’s passengers, adds the media, which nevertheless mentions some material damage. An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the accident.
