Spanish Court Orders Deportation of Moroccan Hirak Activists Seeking Asylum

Jamal Mohamed Mouna and Jawhari, two activists from the Rif Hirak pursued by Morocco, boarded a makeshift boat a few days ago to reach southern Spain. The Motril court ordered their expulsion.
The two men, along with two other Moroccans, were transferred to a reception center in Murcia. Jamal was sentenced in October by the Moroccan justice to 8 months in prison for "incitement to fight against the territorial unity" of the State. He had also been sentenced to two years in prison for his participation in the Hirak protest movement in the Rif in July 2019 in Tamasint, a village near Al Hoceima, where he had been photographed with the Rif flag.
In a video, he talks about his situation. After a few days spent within the center, it seems that their asylum procedure is on the right track.
