Spanish Consulate in Tangier Uncovers Major Schengen Visa Fraud Ring

The Spanish consulate in Tangier has filed a complaint with the competent prosecutor’s office against ten individuals accused of falsifying official documents for the purpose of obtaining Schengen visas.
These individuals would have, with the help of intermediaries, falsified social security documents and bank statements in an attempt to illegally obtain the visa.
The accused and witnesses have already been heard as part of the investigation conducted by the provincial brigade of the judicial police of Tangier under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office to shed light on this case. Other arrests could follow.
The proliferation of these fraudulent practices in the city of Tangier has led the Spanish consular authorities to redouble their vigilance in the processing of visa application files.
