Spain’s Sánchez Hails Morocco King’s Speech as Opportunity to Redefine Relations

The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, reacted to the speech of King Mohammed VI->mot151, in which Morocco wishes to inaugurate "an unprecedented stage" in relations with Spain, based on "trust, transparency, mutual consideration and respect for commitments". He believes that it is "a great opportunity to redefine the relations between the two countries".
"I believe that every crisis brings an opportunity. And I believe that the speech of His Majesty the King constitutes a great opportunity to redefine the relations between the two countries and the pillars on which they rest," he stressed during a joint press conference at the Torrejon de Ardoz air force base with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, reports the MAP.
Pedro Sánchez welcomed the content of the royal speech. Also, he thanked the sovereign for his vision for a bilateral partnership based on mutual trust and understanding. "Indeed, it is on trust, respect and present and future collaboration that we can build stronger relations than those we currently have," said the President of the Spanish Government.
According to him, the ties that bind Morocco and Spain are deep. "We have always considered Morocco as a strategic partner of Spain, but also of the entire EU," he said, adding that the two countries are allies, neighbors and friends.
