Souss-Massa Region Signs Agreements to Support Moroccan Expatriates and Migrants

The council and the Wilaya of the Souss-Massa region, the ministry in charge of Moroccans living abroad and the French Development Agency (AFD) proceeded on Wednesday to the signing of two conventions within the framework of the Regional Program of Policies and Initiatives for Moroccans living abroad and migrants (PRIM).
The first convention relates to the strengthening of cooperation between the council and the Wilaya of the Souss-Massa region, and the ministry in charge of Moroccans living abroad, in terms of coordination, dialogue and consultation with regard to activities related to Moroccans living abroad and migrants. It aims at a joint implementation of programs dedicated to Moroccans living abroad and migrants by national institutions and local, regional and international partners.
The second convention, on the other hand, formalizes the support cooperation for the regional implementation of the national migration policy, with the financial support of the French Development Agency (AFD) to Morocco. It includes the financing of projects aimed at the social and administrative support of Moroccans living abroad and migrants.
Funded to the tune of 9 million euros by the AFD for a period of 4 years, the Regional Program of Policies and Initiatives for Moroccans living abroad and migrants (PRIM) aims to support the ministry in charge of Moroccans living abroad in the process of implementing the migration policy in the regions of Souss-Massa and the Oriental.
