Snapchat Demands Moroccan Cafe Remove Lookalike Branding
Tuesday 11 June 2019, by
The global giant Snapchat, apparently angry, has just ordered the owner of a shisha cafe in Martil to remove its trade name and colors from its walls.
The photo of the problematic work pointed out by the Snapchat application is totally hilarious. We can read "Snap Chat food". The word "food" being written lower down. And a notable space between "Snap" and "Chat" should also be noted. According to Rue20, Snapchat would have demanded that this, although it is pretty and innocent, be removed.
Indeed, no one could doubt the innocence of the owner in the matter of counterfeiting. Or to put it another way, no one could believe that the premises belong to Snapchat. But Snapchat still insisted!
On this media we can read: "Internet users on social networks have shared the information that the Snapchat application has forced the owner of a shisha cafe in Martil to remove his trade name from his facade".
The same source specifies that the American company Snapchat threatened the cafe owner with legal action and damages if he did not comply. And since it didn’t seem to be joking, he complied: no more "Snap Chat Food".
Internet users reacted a lot to this case, for which we unfortunately do not have concrete evidence. One of them wrote jokingly: "We don’t joke with these Americans".
