Video Shows Officer’s Aggressive Enforcement of COVID-19 Lockdown Measures
A widely shared video on social networks reveals the aggressive behavior of an authority agent towards certain citizens caught in flagrant violation of the state of emergency.
Some individuals did not hesitate to violate the confinement measures imposed by the Ministry of the Interior to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
These behaviors often expose them to severe fines from the law enforcement officers, before the criminal sanctions in force.
However, the attitude of certain agents raises questions about the violations of citizens’ rights and the use of violence, said the Observatory of Northern Human Rights.
For the Observatory, the behavior of the law enforcement officer in the video reflects "an excessive use of force that undermines the dignity of the persons and their physical security, especially since the victims did not show any resistance".
