Sexual Harassment Scandal Rocks Prestigious Rabat High School

The Lycée Descartes de Rabat is at the heart of a sexual harassment scandal. The victim is a student, the alleged perpetrator is a Franco-Algerian teacher.
It all started with the leak of messages on X between a teacher and his student. "What’s your bra size? Do you want to s*ck me? Do you also want me to f*ck you? Bite your a*s?" "Tomorrow between 2pm and 5pm?" "OK, where?" "At the pickup point" "So in your car?" "Ok." These are the messages that a teacher at the Lycée Descartes de Rabat and his student exchanged and that Le Desk was able to read. The high school student was 14 years old at the time of the events. Today, she is in her final year.
"I don’t want to go too far," the student often repeats, adding that there "should be limits." "Would you get angry if [...]?" he asks her. The student replies: "only if you do it without my consent." The Franco-Algerian teacher does not back down: "And what if I do it anyway?" "Then I’ll be very uncomfortable," responds the teenager. "Then don’t follow me if you don’t want to," the teacher concludes. These messages were later deleted from the social network.
Since then, the Franco-Algerian teacher has been accused of having "maintained a sexual relationship" with his student. Facts confirmed by another student at the Lycée Descartes de Rabat who claims to have read the conversation between the alleged harassing teacher and the alleged victim. "I read the messages from his phone (the student in question, ed.) [...] it’s the teacher’s account, he subscribed to students and several were following him on his Instagram account," she confirms, stressing that "it’s not the first time we’ve said the teacher is weird."
The Lycée Descartes de Rabat, attached to the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), would have, according to the same source, tried to cover up the case before the leak of the messages on social networks. "The school wanted to cover up the case, but now they won’t be able to," the same student claims. These allegations of sexual harassment will be the subject of debate at the school board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 26.
